This policy explains what information HonestCalcs (https://honestcalcs.com) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at hello@honestcalcs.com.
The short version
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or other personal details to use any calculator.
- The numbers you type into calculators are not saved. Most calculations run entirely in your browser; a few (such as the Pakistan income tax breakdown) are computed on our server and discarded straight away.
- Advertising partners, including Google, may place and read cookies to show ads. You can opt out of personalized ads (see below).
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) receives standard technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — in order to deliver the page, keep the service secure and diagnose errors. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify you.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your light/dark theme preference. This stays on your device.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which helps keep HonestCalcs free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe).
- The cookies of other third-party vendors or ad networks may also be used to serve ads on this site. Google lists the ad technology providers it works with, and you can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices and consent
Europe, the UK and Switzerland: before personalized ads or related cookies are used, you are asked for consent through Google's consent message, which is certified under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. Your choice is recorded by that consent tool. You can change or withdraw it at any time with the “Privacy choices” link in the footer of every page.
United States: residents of states with consumer privacy laws — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia — can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising using the “Do Not Sell or Share” option in the footer. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal: Google applies restricted data processing to ad requests from browsers that send it, where state law requires. You may also have the right to know, delete or correct personal information; since we don't hold accounts or calculator inputs, most requests concern ad cookies, which you can also clear in your browser.
Brazil: for visitors in Brazil, Google limits ad serving to ad technology providers it has certified under the LGPD.
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a question, email hello@honestcalcs.com.
